The aim of the
"tool on teacher training" is to give ideas and guidelines for
action to support teacher training in EDC.
The authors at first discuss the need for
teacher training
in EDC by for example analysing the challenges to the traditional
model of citizenship and explaining the need for more effective
systems of teacher education (chapter 1).
In subsequent
chapters the teacher competences needed and the learning process and
its specific requirements are discussed. Chapter 6 contains various
case studies presenting experiences with implementing various EDC
projects in different countries.
The "tool on
teacher training" doesn't include teaching material for direct use
in the classroom. I nevertheless incorporated it in our directory
because it provides valuable background information - concerning for
example the general conditions required for effectively teaching EDC
- which can help teachers and educators
to better understand the environment of EDC and thus improving their
seminars and courses. |
