Fields of Activity:

Educational co-operation

  • The education department of KulturKontakt Austria acts on behalf of and with financial support from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture.

  • It was established in 1994 with the aim to promote educational co-operation between Austria and East and South Eastern Europe and to act for the countries in transition as an interface for the exchange of information and expertise among educational experts and institutions.

  • In eleven of our partner countries activities are developed and implemented by Austrian educational co-ordinators in close co-operation with local stake-holders via a network of education project offices: St. Petersburg, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia, Skopje, Tirana, Chisinau.

  • KulturKontakt also hosts the secretariat of the Task Force Education and Youth within the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.

  • KulturKontakt‘s educational co-operation activities reflect the balance between targeted support for national education reforms in our respective partner countries and the wider view on educational developments in Europe. In this context the promotion of regional co-operation and networks has become an important aspect of KulturKontakt’s work.
