Mission:

  • to support the development of a democratic political culture in South East Europe (SEE)

  • to offer support for Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC) in formal and non-formal education

Projects (past and present):

  • UNESCO Education Server for Civic, Peace and Human Rights Education www.dadalos.org: more than 1.500 A4 pages of background materials for the following main subject areas: “Human Rights”, “Democracy”, “Political Parties”, “European Union”, “Teaching Politics”, “Peace Education”, “Globalisation”, “United Nations”. Languages: Bosnia/Croatian/Serbian, Albanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Romanian, English and German

  • 20.000 D@dalos CD-ROMs in 6 print runs produced and distributed

  • Combined ICT and EDC seminars for more than 2.000 teachers in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro and Kosovo

  • Development of an innovative in-service teacher training concept for the use of new media/ICT in schools (“fit@school”). Languages: Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, Albanian, Bulgarian, Romanian

  • EDC seminars for youth, teachers and headmasters in Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia

  • “Teaching politics in SEE” – 6 month course for multipliers from SEE

  • “Betzavta” – introduction of an innovative EDC method to SEE (adaptation of training manual, training for facilitators)

  • EDC Roundtables – regional work meetings and conferences for EDC policy makers and practitioners
