  • 1991 – 1992: The Intercultural Institute is being set-up as a follow-up to a series of international seminars organised in Timisoara by the Council of Europe in partnership with the Ministry of Education on the topic of „The intercultural perspective in teaching civic education”

  • 1992 – 1995: The Intercultural Institute of Timisoara is actively involved in Council of Europe’s project „Democracy, Human Rights, Minorities: educational and cultural aspects”

  • 1997 – 1998: Coordonation of the project „Human Rights Education in Roma Communities in Timisoara” (Phare Democracy Programme)

  • 1998: Participation in the dissemination phase of Council of Europe’s project „Democracy, Human Rights, Minorities: educational and cultural aspects”

  • 1998 – 1999: Coordination of the project „Education for democracy in multicultural communities” (Confidence-Building Measures Programme, Council of Europe)

  • 1998 – 2002: Participation to the working group on Education for democratic citizenship and management of diversity in education of the Graz Process, later integrated in the Stability Pact for SEE

  • 1999 – 2000: Coordination of the project „Intercultural education in multiethnic communities” (Confidence-Building Measures Programme, Council of Europe)

  • 1999 – 2000: Participation to Council of Europe’s project „Education for democratic citizenship”

  • 2001: Coordination of project „Banat Network for Intercultural Citizenship Education - BANNET” (Stability Pact for SEE)

  • 2002: Co-organisation, with the Institute of Educational Sciences and with the support of the Council of Europe, of a national training course on Human Rights Education

  • 2002 – 2003: Participation to the regional project „Training for EDC multipliers” (Stability Pact for SEE, Kulturkontakt Austria)

  • 2002 – 2004: Partenership with British Council Romania in the project „Intercultural and Citizenship Education through schools”

  • 2002 – 2004: Participation in the European project „Toward Democratic Citizenship through Non-Formal Education” (Socrates GRUNDTVIG Programme, European Commission)

  • 2002 – 2004: Coordination of the European project „NewTech – Information and Communication Technology as Tool for Intercultural Education in Europe” (Socrates Comenius Programme, European Commission); end of 2004 launching of website www.interculturaleducation.org

  • since 2002: Membership in the International CIVITAS Network: Promotion of a civic education methodology called „Project Citizen” (Center for Civic Education, USA) in Romania. An agreement with the Ministry of Education has been signed in 2004

  • 2003: Cooperation with the Ministry of Education in the frame of the National Programme on Education for Democratic Citizenship

  • 2004: Publication of the Romanian version of COMPASS – A manual for Human Rights Education with Young People, elaborated by the Council of Europe

  • 2004: Initiation of the Romanian National EDC Network RO-ECD (www.intercultural.ro/roecd)
