DESCRIPTION: |
External evaluation involves experts
external to the project implementers, who assist in identifying
the achievements and effectiveness of the project. It is an
important learning tool, as it brings in outside views and
valuable expertise. External evaluation often includes
participatory assessment events in order to better identify the
results of the project. Evaluation is also a main tool for
accountability and informs the policies for further interventions.
External evaluation is usually expensive and also takes much of
the time of implementers. For this reason, its use needs to be
decided with care. |
